These two people from Groningen win a nice prize in the lottery

Nothing ventured nothing gained. There are people who despise gambling or lotteries. There are people who think that you should not pay attention to the winners, because they are all advertising for the lotteries or gambling companies. Yet we do it again, because again it was hit. Twice even. They risked, they won.. A resident of Central Groningen won 200,000 euros in the State Lottery last weekend. And Martijn from Groningen won 25,000 euros and a new car in the postcode lottery. Moreover, he got presenter Gaston Starreveld on his doorstep. Congratulations and we can’t resist: Gooooeeeeedddeeeafternoonggggggggggg!

Three students from Groningen pull energy surcharge out of the fire

Three Groningen students have ensured that all students living in rooms are warm in the winter. At least, that they can pay the energy bill a little more easily. The three students were proved right by the court in a case against the municipality of Groningen. The city has wrongly excluded students from granting the energy allowance. The judge ruled that the exclusion of the entire group of student room occupants was unlawful. Now it is up to the municipality of Groningen to turn this tasty defeat into policy.

Nearly 5,000 first-years get to know the city of Groningen

Even more about students. The city center is coming to life again, because this week 4800 first-year students will get to know everything there is to do in Groningen through the KEI week. The study could not start more pleasantly. Partying at the Vismarkt, getting condoms from the GGD and of course beers until it comes out of your throat. The introduction via the student associations will follow. Very nice all, welcome too. But soon in the books!
