Aston Martin unveils new Formula 1 car

As the seventh of the ten Formula 1 racing teams, the Aston Martin F1 Team is presenting its car for the 2023 season this Monday evening (8:00 p.m.). The new racer from Sebastian Vettel’s ex-team will be called the AMR23 and will be presented to the public for the first time at Silverstone. At sport.de you can follow the presentation of the AMR23 from 8 p.m. in the live stream!

In the first year after the retirement of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, it will be particularly exciting to see how Aston Martin performs on the track.

One thing is clear: in the third Formula 1 year under the Aston Martin name, the British finally want to take a step forward. From 8 p.m. there will be a presentation of the new car at this point in the live stream:

Last year, Vettel, Lance Stroll and reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg did not finish on the podium at all. With 55 points – 37 points went to Vettel and 17 points to Stroll – the Aston Martin F1 Team took seventh place in the constructors’ championship.

Aston Martin wants to do significantly better in 2023

The question of whether old master Fernando Alonso, who came into the team for Vettel, and Stroll can compete for victories this season, will not be finally answered by today’s performance. However, Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack and the newly formed driver duo will certainly make an initial assessment of the goals for the season.

The 41-year-old Alonso did not want to seriously assess whether Aston Martin will already be driving for victories and titles with him as a driver. “It’s impossible to predict. But what is certain is that I will do my best,” said the Spaniard.

Should Alonso only be able to do the preparatory work for future successes, he would “still be very proud”, said the Formula 1 champion of the years 2005 and 2006.

Alonso was convinced of the qualities of his new teammate Lance Stroll. “With Lance, the team has a driver who is super young and super talented and has the opportunity to become world champion,” said Alonso about the 24-year-old.
