Assizes attacks – Mother Bart Migom: “take your responsibility”

Migom’s parents testified together before the assize court in Brussels, while pictures of their son, a young man in his twenties with a broad smile, were projected on the large screens. The parents said that he would travel to the US to meet his girlfriend there. They also testified that he was full of plans and that his wedding date was even set. And about the difficult three days after the attacks when they were in the dark about Bart’s fate.

“At Crossroads”

At the end of his testimony, Migom’s father asked the accused why they committed the crime and what the point was. “You have made all kinds of choices in your life over the past few years,” said the mother. “Those choices ultimately brought you here, in this room. But even now, at this moment, you are at a crossroads, where you can make a choice again.” She called on them to “take responsibility”.
