Assistant Reinier Robbemond is now head coach at Willem II

Reinier Robbemond has officially taken over as head coach at Willem II. Robbemond, who returned last year as an assistant, has signed a contract until the summer of 2024. According to the club, 50-year-old Robbemond was immediately a serious candidate as head coach after Kevin Hofland had to leave in December.

“Because we also wanted to explore several external options in addition to him, we entered into discussions with a few other trainers. Reinier knew that”, explains technical director Teun Jacobs. “After a careful process, the choice finally fell on him, because we believe he has the right experience, personality and qualities that best suit the current group of players.”

On Friday evening, Robbemond already takes the lead when Willem II takes on Roda JC. The club is already in talks with a new assistant coach who will support Robbemond.
