Asser event center Pand17 has a new operator

Building17 in Assen will have a new operator from next month. Owner Aprisco has signed a multi-year lease with Grunopark from Groningen.

Until the end of last year, Stefan Anjema was the operator of the event center. He has been doing this since May 2019, when he took over the bankrupt Pand17. The center has undergone a major metamorphosis. In addition to bowling, squash and tennis, visitors could play glow golf and a man cave and entertainment club17 were set up.

Several local residents were not happy with the expansion of Pand17. The neighborhood has been complaining about noise nuisance since Anjema held sway in the center. They started a petition out of fear of noise nuisance due to more events at the Asser catering company. Anjema then tried to take the cold out of the air with a residents’ evening. But the promise that there will be no more nuisance could not be made.

Aprisco and Anjema split up in October last year due to disagreements about business operations. With Grunopark, a new operator has now been found for Pand17. The founder of the family business is Piet Swieter, former volleyball international.

In addition to Pand17, Grunopark operates the Camping Stadspark in Groningen, Grand Café Hotel Karsten in Norg and Plaza Sportz in Coevorden. The new operator wants to provide Pand17 with four new covered padel courts in the short term.
