Marijke Ketel can’t wait to start her new job at Hart van Nederland. In two months, the Assense will start working as a presenter for the morning edition of Talpa’s TV program.
The 25-year-old Ketel is currently affiliated with Hart van Nederland as editor-in-chief. She will continue to do so in addition to her new role. That vacancy for the screens arose because presenter Mart Grol has become the regular newsreader of the morning show on Radio 538. From now on he will only fill in for Hart van Nederland.
‘Itching for a while’
Ketel, who was born and raised in Assen, did a screen test some time ago. “I always felt a little itchy to try it in front of the screens. I wanted to see if it worked on screen and if I have a talent for it. And now of course a place has become available, so we sat together again and did such a test again. And that’s what came out.”
“It’s really great that they give me the confidence, as young talent gets opportunities here more often. I’m super excited to take on this challenge,” says Ketel. She sees the fact that she is already involved in the program behind the scenes as an advantage. “Of course I know very well what tone we want to strike and what we want to convey with Hart van Nederland.”
‘Drenthe on the map’
In the morning edition of the program, Ketel becomes a colleague of Wolter Klok, former presenter of RTV Drenthe. “That’s great fun. That way we put Drenthe on the map a bit,” she laughs. “But in the end it comes down to who can do this best. We bring news from all over the Netherlands, so someone from Friesland or Limburg would have been nice too.”
At the beginning of April, Ketel can be seen for the first time at Hart van Nederland. She is responsible for the presentation of the program over three days in total every other week.
