A 38-year-old motorist from Assen was caught driving under the influence in the early morning. He drove himself into the spotlight by ramming two posts with his car on the Pelikaanstraat in Assen.
The emergency services were called around 6.30 am to an accident in which a car would have driven into a building or wall. It turned out on the spot that the car had not hit a wall, but had knocked over two posts on the sidewalk.
