Assen Centraal wants to know how big a problem there is with formaldehyde in homes: ‘Possible danger to public health’

There are still houses in Assen in which the carcinogenic gas formaldehyde is present in too high concentrations, according to a report by this newspaper in the Baggelhuizen district. There, Assenaar Jeffrey Fischer has been fighting against housing corporation Actium for over two years. Formaldehyde levels have been found in Fischer’s home that can cause damage to health. The toxic fumes most likely come from chipboard used in the construction of his 1973 rental home.
