Asphalt gold: Arklyz Group takes over sneaker dealer

The Arklyz Group takes over the German sneaker retailer Asphaltgold.

Arklyz continued its global expansion with the acquisition of Asphaltgold, the Swiss company announced on Monday. Asphaltgold will continue to operate its online platform and its own stationary trade after the takeover. Arklyz leverages its global experience, infrastructure and reputation to continue to grow the business.

“Acquiring Asphaltgold was a very strategic decision for us,” said Param Singh, owner and CEO of Arklyz. “Asphaltgold’s digital approach, which relies on storytelling across social media platforms to build community, combined with world-class access to all relevant sneaker and streetwear brands, is extremely attractive for Arklyz’s future expansion plans.”

Arklyz secured The Athlete’s Foot just last year. The streetwear retailer operates 560 stores in 30 countries. With the acquisition of Asphaltgold, Arklyz intends to advance its growth ambitions. Asphaltgold was founded in 2008 and is one of the leading streetwear retailers in Europe. In addition to the e-commerce business, the company also operates a store in Darmstadt.

“We are delighted to be joining forces with a partner as strategically strong as Arklyz, and I look forward to working together to create continued growth and success for Asphaltgold,” said Daniel Benz, Founder and CEO of Asphaltgold.
