Asket launches new store concept for circular economy

Asket is launching a new store concept that focuses on the sale of used and repaired items from the Swedish brand.

The first Asket Restore store will open in Stockholm’s Södermalm district, Asket announced on Thursday. There, the products returned to the brand as part of the ‘Revival’ take-back program go back on sale. In addition, samples from photo shoots should also be offered.

The store concept is based on the success of two pop-up events where used items were re-sold. Since May 2021, Asket has received around 2,500 items of clothing as part of the program. 70 percent of them were repaired and cleaned and were then part of the events. For the reconditioning of the pieces, Asket works with a partner company near Gothenburg.

“The fashion industry is grasping at straws to make the circular economy a reality but is constantly being overtaken by the sheer number of new styles being produced. We firmly believe that the only way forward is to produce less but better, and to help our customers appreciate and use our garments for as long as possible,” said Asket co-founder August Bard Bringéus . “But even the most well thought out garments will eventually fall out of the daily rotation. With our Restore area, we offer these garments a second life.”

In addition to the range, repair workshops will also be offered in the ‘Asket Restore’ in the future.
