The Japanese sporting goods supplier Asics Corporation has brought additional digital service skills in-house. Last week, the company announced the acquisition of the French IT company Njuko SAS, founded in 2012. Financial details of the transaction were not released.
According to the new owner, Njuko is the leading provider of digital registration solutions for running events. “With the acquisition of Njuko, Asics now offers registration services worldwide and now has the corresponding capabilities in Europe after Japan, North America, Australia and New Zealand,” the sporting goods retailer said in a statement. Njuko will therefore continue to work with its existing customers even after the transaction has been completed.
“We are very excited to welcome the Njuko team to the Asics family,” said Alex Vander Hoeven, CEO of Asics Runner App Inc., in a statement. “Europe is an important market for Asics and the Njuko platform has proven to be the most suitable technology for this market.”
