The Japanese sporting goods group Asics Corporation closed the year 2021 with a strong increase in sales in EMEA. The sneaker specialist was able to more than double its operating result in the region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This emerges from the latest figures presented by the company on Thursday.
Accordingly, Asics EMEA increased its consolidated net sales by 13.7 percent compared to the previous year. The operating profit was 83.1 million euros and thus 121.8 percent above the level of 2020. The sports goods manufacturer has achieved “profitable growth in all categories and channels” in the region, according to a statement.
In its own e-commerce, Asics EMEA recorded a sales increase of 16 percent. In the wholesale business, revenues increased by 13 percent. Above-average growth was achieved in Italy (+27 percent), the Iberian markets (+24 percent), Germany (+19 percent), South Africa (+18 percent) and France (+16 percent).
Carsten Unbehaun, CEO of Asics EMEA, was satisfied with the results. “As a team, we delivered strong results in 2021. Despite significant challenges, we ended the year stronger than ever,” he said in a statement.
