As the last coastal municipality: Knokke-Heist introduces tourist tax
Hotels pay 125 euros per sleeping place, for a holiday home that is 250 euros per bed. The minimum tax is 1,000 euros per stay. Those who rent out their second residence as a holiday home also have to pay the tourist tax, but then the second residence tax will no longer apply.
Operators of tourist accommodation decide for themselves whether they pass on the tourist tax to their customers. The intervention should yield Knokke-Heist 2 million euros annually.
