With 12 kilometers to go to Orbassano, the last riders of a group of six were caught. Dylan Groenewegen fell behind in the sprint. Team DSM prepared the sprint for Van Uden, but De Kleijn was faster and was also just ahead of Gaviria. Dylan Groenewegen finished tenth.
,,This feels great”, said De Kleijn. “The team did a lot of work for me. I was confident and once I got into a good position, at 200, 300 meters I knew I was going to win. With the preparation I received I was able to beat some top sprinters, that is very nice.”
Milan-Turin is the oldest international one-day race that is still being held. The first edition took place in 1876.
