Arto Bryggare was concerned about the statement of the spear hero

Iltalehti’s athletics expert Arto Bryggare smiled when he saw Toni Keränen opening round bang: 82.89.

– It was a tough move, Bryggare sums up – and immediately expresses his concern, which is based on Keränen’s statement at Yle’s interview point.

Keränen announced that now is the time to practice.

– Yes, it’s like competing in the summer and training in the winter, Bryggare taps.

– There is an idea in Finland that you have to be constantly training. I’ll emphasize here that I don’t know how he’s going to work out, but hopefully at least he won’t pull a terrible weightlifting.

Of course, even in the summer you practice, but according to Bryggare, only “with thought and caution”.

– In a tear-off sport, even recovering from competitions takes time. Have to be careful.

Keränen’s ranking points are almost certainly enough for a World Cup ticket.

– Four to five more meters are needed in a hard place, so we can talk about an international man. The first hard place is figuring out the World Cup qualifiers.

“I understand perfectly”

Oliver Helander skipped the Oulu race. He had “feelings in the approximator”.

– I fully understand if there is any tension. If the approximator goes, the rehabilitation will suddenly take two months and at the same time the technology will be disrupted, Bryggare swells.

– Now you have to stretch and get the muscle in such a condition that it lasts when it gets hard. Hopefully he will have time to have one or preferably two races before mid-July.

Women’s spear Sanne Erkkola threw his record, 60.18. The World Cup place is not an impossibility either.

– There is room for improvement in running and traction, but it is a good thing and the right direction when throwing results from the early 60s, Bryggare says.

– Hopefully there will be more meters, because the sixties aren’t doing well yet – except maybe in the Swedish match.

“It’s not a tough race”

The Finnish World Cup team will be named in the coming days.

– It’s a tough race. Not everyone gets a medal around their neck, Bryggare insists.

– Every additional place is a good thing, because it is a good school for graduation and, above all, for the European Championships.

Medal expectations are not in heaven.

– The most potential athletes in the top eight are in the men’s spear and the women’s triple jump, even in height, Bryggare says.

– For example Kristiina Mäkelän the result jumped upwind (14.12) is hard. Now it is important to get the tone right.

The World Championship medals will be competed in Eugene on the 15th and 24th. July, European Championship medals 15-21. August in Munich.
