Artificial intelligence is now used to create material for children’s enjoyment, the possession of which is also illegal in Finland.

The BBC and Tivi reported on how artificial intelligence is used to produce content similar to children’s entertainment material for several websites. Artificial intelligence images are mainly created with the open source version of the Stable Diffusion program, which, however, prohibits the creation of illegal material.
Child porn images created by artificial intelligence have been distributed for a fee on websites such as Patreon and Pixiv. Some of the material is very raw and depicts, for example, the rape of infant children. Among the material produced with artificial intelligence, there are also links to genuine children’s good use material.
Cutting in progress
The online crime team of the British police has also already come across artificial intelligence content imitating child pornography. According to the NPCC, the British law enforcement coordination agency, AI-generated content can take away the resources of law enforcement officers to investigate real child abuse cases. In addition, consuming material created with artificial intelligence can lead to sexual violence in real life.
Both Patreon and Pixiv try to prevent the spread of AI-generated child porn by banning and blocking users who distribute the material.
