“Artificial Intelligence” also conquers the world of sports

Starting from the fact that all innovation is born as a result of a problem or a need, in the current era it is inevitable to ask how technology can help to solve it? In sports this happens with Artificial Intelligence (AI), this technology has drastically changed sport as we know it today, responding to different needs and problems not only of athletes but also of the coaching staff, coaches and even, of the fans.

AI has been going through all industries, in sports the main applications that we see and that are being worked on today are the analysis and tracking of athletes, many data points such as training performance, injuries and matches are joined to analyze the strengths of the players, optimize training and develop the best strategies; fan engagement, which consists of evaluating behavior and preferences when offering a unique experience and training with virtual reality, which allows simulating real situations.

In this sense, Artificial Intelligence saves time and money, facilitates decision-making, adds knowledge and opportunities to optimize performance, and creates better opportunities for young people in sport.

There is still a long way to go, according to specialists, it was only this year that sports entities began to see long-term plans to understand how they are going to use AI and the impact on their structures, new monitoring and analysis of more sophisticated players are expected . As AI and machine learning algorithms continue to improve they will be able to provide even more detailed insights into player performance.

The sport is going to change the way we know it and as in any sector, the impact of AI is going to be huge. Currently there are still competitions and entities that do not have plans or projects related to this technology, however, this will no longer be the case next year, all sports and entities will require talents and projects related to AI.

Undoubtedly, everyone who is skeptical today will use these technologies, understanding how they can get the most out of them. AI brings better opportunities and possibilities in sport. From Libro De Pases we seek to take advantage of this technology to democratize the access of all young athletes to clubs around the world.
