Art route full of life-size dolls in Kortrijk

They have been delivering little dolls to children in the hospital for years. The exhibition travels around Europe and in every city there are different dolls by local artists.

Service club Kiwanis asked 5 local artists to get started with such a doll.

In total there are 26 dolls to discover by artists from different European cities, because the exhibition is touring. And you can also spot about 80 little dolls in shop windows. The K-dolls are a creative offshoot of the hospital dolls that Kiwanis has been handing out for years.

“These are fabric therapeutic dolls. For example, it is shown on the doll where the injection will be given. The children can also just tinker with it and make a work of art out of it. They can also find comfort in it,” says Sander De Bo of Kiwanis Kortrijk.

For 4500 euros you can buy a large doll, a small one for 299. The proceeds go to Kiwanis projects.
