A big downer for Art Rooijakkers: he will not be missed as the presenter of B&B Vol Liefde. Will he return to the love show next season when his voice problems are over?
Actually, Art Rooijakkers would also present the current second season of B&B Vol Liefde, but due to serious voice problems, he had to drop out after a few recording days. The love show is therefore presentationless this year; there is only a voice-over and a reporter who questions the participants off-screen.
Art not missed
Art is not exactly missed at B&B Vol Liefde. A presenter who also wants some attention from the viewer turns out not to be necessary at all. “The painful thing is that you don’t miss Art Rooijakers, at least I do, while he really set up the program in the first season,” says Weekend boss Bart Ettekoven in Shownieuws.
Then Art went to all those bed and breakfasts to have conversations with the owners. “He has only been on display for a short time this season, twice. He made a start, but in the end he couldn’t finish it.”
Will he return?
Bart seriously wonders whether Art is still needed at B&B Vol Liefde. “The question is whether he will return in the third season. RTL has now seen that it can also be done very well without him.”
What does Art himself want? “I don’t know. Maybe he has something like: I’m going to do something else in the summer. But it was one of the great successes he had at RTL. I can imagine he would like to do it again.”
Good way
How is Art actually doing? He is still recovering from surgery on the polyp on his vocal cords. “Now I can talk a little bit. Very slowly it seems to be going in the right direction,” he said two weeks ago.
B&B Vol Liefde managed to captivate 778 thousand viewers (21 percent market share) yesterday and RTL 4 took silver in prime time.
