Art installation commemorates the historic Treaty of Kortrijk…

The Treaty of Kortrijk established the border between France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands after the fall of Napoleon in 1814. This historical document is still valid today. With the light installation, Kortrijk wants to keep the memory of the Treaty alive for residents and visitors.

The initiative for the light artwork came from Martijn Vandenbroucke and Bernard D’Heygere, authors of the book ‘The Treaty of Kortrijk’ that commemorates the 200th anniversary of the treaty.
