The report of the collision on the Hoofdweg (N520) was received by the emergency services at 2 p.m. After the collision, the car ended up in the water next to the Hoofdweg. The engine is severely damaged.
According to a police spokesperson, the motorcyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance, the motorist was arrested because he was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs after testing. Blood tests have yet to show whether the amount of drugs is punishable.
Road temporarily closed
Forensic Traffic Investigation (FO-Traffic) is investigating what exactly happened. According to the spokesperson, the road will be closed for a while so that the emergency services can ‘do their work properly and safely.’
