Art festival Eden brings creation stories in images, music and words
The exhibition fits in with the Eden art festival, which also includes dance, word and music.
The exhibition shows work by dozens of renowned artists from home and abroad. Dries Bekaert, Eden arts festival coordinator: “We have freely invited the artists to be inspired by the creation stories from Genesis. But we have invited them to deal with this creatively with respect for their artistic autonomy, and this is reflected in a wide range and sub-themes that are covered.” (read more below the photo)
Artist Peter Defurne focuses on paradise lost. “Among other things, also the loss of beauty, the lost eternal youth. Also the loss of nature, the environment. I have bundled everything into one installation with drawings and sculptures.”
The Eden arts festival in Roeselare will run until May 21. On Saturday there will also be a concert by the Servir Antico ensemble in the Sint-Martinuskerk in Oekene with a musical tribute to the woman.
