Arson in Berlin-Neukölln – woman jumps out of the window

On Friday evening at around 9:15 p.m., the fire brigade was called to Karl-Marx-Strasse, prams, an electric wheelchair and a garbage can burned in the stairways of three houses.

A woman jumped out of a window before the fire brigade arrived, apparently out of panic, and according to initial reports, she was critically injured. According to the fire brigade, there are also two other seriously injured and five slightly injured. They are suspected of smoke inhalation.

According to witnesses, a van driver is said to have driven his vehicle close to the house so that people from the first floor could climb onto the roof of the van and get to safety.

The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly, but Karl-Marx-Strasse is currently still completely closed. The Berlin police are investigating the cause of the fire, and it is assumed that it was arson.
