Paused due to knee injury
Arsenal FC have extended Mohamed Elneny’s contract by a further year to June 30, 2024. The 30-year-old midfielder has been with the Londoners since early 2016, making him Arsenal’s longest-serving professional. Due to injury, Elneny, who is currently on a break with a knee injury, has only played eight games for the Gunners this season, making a total of 155 appearances (six goals) to date.
“I’m so happy, I love this club and our fans so much and I’ll give everything to help us be the best we can be every day I’m here,” said the Egypt international. “It makes me so proud that I have been able to represent this great club since 2016. The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad at the moment is so positive and I’m so happy to have extended my contract.”
