Arsenal FC paid 80 million euros to LOSC Lille in the summer of 2019 for the Ivorian international Nicolas Pépé. The winger came to London with a recommendation of 33 points in Ligue 1. Since then, the 27-year-old has collected 27 goals and 21 assists in 112 games there. Actually not a bad rate – but Pépé has never been able to convince consistently since then, especially in the previous year there were only a few appearances as a joker. Temporarily, the paths between the left foot and the “Gunners” will now separate. OGC Nice signed Pépé on loan.

Noisy “RMC Sports‘ and the newspaper ‘L’Equipe“The southern French will not have an option to buy the attacker, who is tied to Arsenal until 2024 and continues to hold the place there as a record signing. Most recently, Pépé’s salary caused a stumbling block in the talks. Pépé may be available to coach Lucien Favre for the match day next weekend.
Gabriel Jesus new in top 5: Arsenal FC’s most expensive arrivals
In Nice, the right winger will be the eighth signing, after goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel (35; Leicester) the second from the Premier League and with a market value of 25 million euros the most valuable. His move to Arsenal in 2019 took Pépé’s market value to a peak of €75m – since then it has steadily declined to where he is today.
Meanwhile, another versatile winger, Portugal’s Pedro Neto, tops Arsenal’s list. The 22-year-old is under contract with Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers until 2027 and would probably be expensive if transferred.
