Arsenal FC has reduced the gap to leaders Liverpool FC in the English Premier League to two points, at least for 24 hours.
The pursuer won against relegation candidate Nottingham Forest 2-1 (0-0), national player Kai Havertz was not in the Gunners’ starting line-up. On Sunday (5:30 p.m. CET) the Londoners will play the top game against the Reds.
Gabriel Jesus (65′) and Bukayo Saka (72′) scored for Arsenal, while Taiwo Awoniyi reduced the deficit late on for Nottingham. The former Union Berlin professional was successful in the 89th minute, but it was no longer enough to win a point. Havertz came on as a substitute in the 71st minute.
Liverpool can move back to five points with a win against Arsenal’s local rivals Chelsea on Wednesday.
