Arsenal had the chance to run away to eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, as chasers Aston Villa and Manchester City were held to draws in their matches on Wednesday.

It took the bull by the horns and seriously started to knock down Liverpool in the round’s absolute top fight.

Arsenal was clearly the more active team in the opening period, but the most dangerous place fell to the visitors For Conor Bradleywho skilfully lifted the ball past the hosts’ goalkeeper David Ryan over.

To the chagrin of Liverpool fans, however, it stopped at the top of the Gunners, and didn’t Cody Gakpoka too managed to finish, even though the game tool fell off the crossbar directly to him. Countryman Jurriën Timber managed to block the Dutch shot.

In the second episode, the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta again fell into his heinous sin, as the Basque began to think about a possible defeat. The ball remained almost permanently in Liverpool’s possession.

It was telling that Arteta took the vital players from the field in terms of attacking play Bukayo Sakan and by Martin Ødegaardeven though the score was still 0–0. It seemed that Arsenal started to secure a draw point at the same time.

That’s what it got, because neither team got the ball into the net.

The goalless draw also guaranteed that the tension in the Premier League championship will remain. Next, Arsenal will play both domestic cup competitions and will not return to the league challenges until a little over a week later.
