Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspur stumble in lockstep

Arsenal FC is experiencing the turn of the year “only” in second place in the Premier League.

The Gunners lost the London derby against West Ham United 0-2 (0-1) without the suspended Kai Havertz and thus missed out on taking back the top spot from Liverpool FC and their German team manager Jürgen Klopp.

Thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek (13th) and ex-Stuttgart player Konstantinos Mavropanos (55th), Conference League winners West Ham wintered in sixth place.

Tottenham Hotspur had previously suffered a setback in the fight for the Champions League places with a 2:4 (0:2) at Brighton & Hove Albion led by national player Pascal Groß. It was also announced on Thursday evening that the discarded French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was moving to the USA.

According to media reports, the long-time Spurs captain is in advanced talks with Los Angeles FC. The former world champion has not yet played a Premier League game this season. His contract expires at the end of the season.
