The VfL Wolfsburg players recently won against Chelsea and qualified for the quarter-finals. It looked good against Arsenal for a long time, then there was a setback.
It didn’t quite work out: The Wolves didn’t win the first leg of the quarter-finals in the Champions League against Arsenal. In the end, coach Tommy Stroot’s team had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Also because Lotte Wubben-Moy equalized for Arsenal shortly before the end (89th). Tabea Waßmuth (19th) scored for Wolfsburg in the first half, but failed to hit the post in the second half.
In addition, things got heated on the field at times when Alexandra Popp and Arsenal striker Beth Mead clashed.
