Arsenal apparently interested in FCB star

Joao Cancelo is expected to leave Bayern again in the summer. The full-back apparently has no shortage of prospects. With FC Arsenal, a top club from the Premier League is said to be vying for the Portuguese international.

Joao Cancelo is set at FC Bayern under Thomas Tuchel. Nevertheless, the cooperation will probably not go beyond the current season.

After all, the loan agreement with Manchester City apparently includes a purchase option of 70 million euros. A sum that Munich will definitely not put on the table.

Because of this, other European clubs are already positioning themselves. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are interested in the 28-year-old. However, the Gunners are said to fear that Manchester City will not let the regular right-back move to their direct rival. After all, the Londoners have already been able to strengthen themselves with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko and therefore annoy the Skyblues in the Premier League.

Head coach Mikel Arteta knows Cancelo, who has also been traded at Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, from their time together at Manchester City. The Spaniard worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant before moving to Arsenal.

Permanent move to Bayern unlikely

Cancelo has fallen out of favor under the star coach. That’s why the defender moved on to FC Bayern on loan in the winter.

At the German record champions, Cancelo has been part of the permanent staff since Tuchel’s arrival at the latest. Since Alphonso Davies’ injury, the Portuguese has been playing at left-back.

According to “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg, however, a permanent transfer is “very difficult” to implement. Even Cancelo himself does not expect to play at Bayern beyond the end of the season. How it goes on for the player is therefore completely open.
