Former bodybuilder, movie star and governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals on his Arnolds Pump Club podcast that his eating habits have changed dramatically since his teenage years.

75-year-old Schwarzenegger says that his diet contains 80 percent less meat than before. The former movie star is still careful about what she puts in her mouth, but admits that different diets can get the same results.

– Nutrition is a bit like religion or politics. People argue about which is the best option. However, research has made it clear that different diets can lead to healthy results. Many believe that they have to eat animal proteins to grow muscles, but there are more choices, Schwarzenegger says on the podcast.

In the episode, Schwarzenegger refers to a study that says plant and animal proteins don’t make a big difference in building muscle. However, the bodybuilder reminds us that he is not completely vegan, he has only reduced his meat consumption.

In the podcast, Schwarzenegger reveals what he eats in one day. For breakfast, he eats porridge or Greek yogurt with granola. He always eats a salad for lunch. The salad is sometimes topped with a veggie burger, salmon or chicken. Sometimes he also eats an omelette with a salad.

– I always eat soup for dinner. I try to eat light for my last meal of the night.

The bodybuilding legend reveals he has no secret to staying fit at 75. His diet is based on its boringness and routine. However, Schwarzenegger admits that he occasionally indulges in a steak or hamburgers.

– My secret is to be as routine as possible. If I eat a big lunch, it doesn’t bother me because I eat well most of the time.
