Arnold Schwarzenegger apologizes for groping women: “Forget all the excuses”

Netflix Arnold-documentary series examines, among other things, the uproar surrounding the star at the time of the gubernatorial election in 2003. Rolling Stone according to that time, a total of 15 women publicly said that the actor had sexually harassed and humiliated them within three decades. Some of the women had acted with Schwarzenegger in the same films.

At the time, Schwarzenegger denied the allegations, but admitted that he sometimes behaved badly. At the same time, he said the media attacked him with fabricated stories of individuals.

Now, in the documentary series, he looks at the situation again and apologizes.

– At first my reaction was defensive. Today, when I look back on it, I can say that it doesn’t really matter what time period you talk about. Whether we were talking about the Muscle Beach days, moments from 40 years ago, or the present, it was still wrong. It was horseshit. Forget all the excuses, it was wrong, Schwarzenegger says in the series.

Despite the uproar, Schwarzenegger won that election and became governor of California. The victory came as a complete surprise to Schwarzenegger.

– Honestly, I was surprised that it didn’t have a bigger impact on the election. I thought more people would get hurt, Schwarzenegger admits.
