Sihvonen has returned to the top quickly after his serious injury. The professional bodybuilder’s leg training was interrupted in November when his right hamstring failed in the middle of the performance.

– Suddenly there was a terrible click. I immediately guessed that something broke a little worse, he commented to Iltalehte in December.

The helix of Sihvonen’s right knee tore and the outer thigh muscle came off almost completely. The bodybuilder ended up on the operating table.

– A week and a half after the accident, I was operated on. When the muscle is detached, the two-week time limit is critical, so I am satisfied that I was able to operate so quickly.

Sihvonen had to spend a couple of months without normal training. This season’s main goals were the Arnold Classic Europe and the Elite Pro professional bodybuilding World Championships, which Sihvonen has won in recent years.

Other Finns also competed in Seville over the weekend. Maikku Hiljanen won the Women’s Acrobatic Fitness Open.

Mika Sihvonen won the IFBB Elite Pro competition in 2019.
