Arno temporarily cancels last concert of Tuesday in the AB | showbiz

MusicArno Hintjens (72) was supposed to perform in a sold-out Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on Tuesday 15 March, but that show is now cancelled. This is confirmed to our editors by several sources.

It would be his last concert for the time being, on Tuesday 15 March in the Ancienne Belgique. But Arno is now absent for the show. This is confirmed to us by various sources. The singer’s health problems may have something to do with it.

The Ostend singer has been battling pancreatic cancer since November 2019. He initially kept the news to himself, but immediately underwent chemotherapy treatment. It was only after his performance at the MIAs in February 2020, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award, that Arno announced his illness. He was operated on shortly afterwards. The recovery from the operation went smoothly after that, a cheerful Arno told himself at the time: “Everything is going well with me. I’ve lost 20 pounds and signed up as Chippendale, but I haven’t had any news yet,” he joked with his signature sense of humour.

In April 2021, Arno was again hospitalized for examinations. Then, in consultation with the doctors, he took a break. The planned concert series, which would continue later in 2021 and in the spring of 2022, was cancelled. In its place came a mini tour. In February 2022, Arno already appeared three times on the stage of the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels – where Stromae came to sing the song ‘Putain Putain’ -, followed by a few concerts in the Kursaal in Ostend. Tuesday’s concert in the Ancienne Belgique was to be the final piece of that mini tour.

Last week Arno received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ostend Film Festival:
