Arno shows Ostend Opex district in new video clip
“The video clip of ‘La Vérité’ introduces Arno’s new album with images shot in Opex, the district in Ostend where Arno spent his childhood, and which also gave his name to this latest album,” says the record company PIAS.
The clip is directed by Danny Willems, photographer and loyal companion of Arno’s route.

“Embedded between the harbour, the wild dunes and the hinterland is Opex, a residential area in the east of Ostend,” says Danny Willems.
“The streets of Opex, also known as the ‘lighthouse neighbourhood’, are where the roots of Arno’s identity lie – this is where his parents grew up and his maternal grandparents had a good working-class cafe. They called the cafe ‘Bij (on) Lulu’.” , after their eldest daughter, Arno’s mother One day you could see Arno’s grandfather playing cards with his friends or his grandmother singing.
What used to be a dynamic working-class neighbourhood, connected to the port of Ostend, has now become a quiet neighbourhood. The many fisheries and noisy shipyards have disappeared. “Opex”, Arno’s latest record, will be released posthumously on September 30.
