Arnaldi-Rublev, a feat is needed to beat the Russian: odds and prediction

The Italian and the world number 5 against each other in the second round of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Whoever wins will find one of Zverev or Norrie in the lower part of the board.

Matteo Arnaldi and Andrey Rublev reach the second round after getting the better of Ramos and Popyrin in two sets respectively. There is no career precedent between the two, but for the main betting sites there is a clear favourite.

THE PREDICTION: RUBLEV WINS 2-0

The Russian is one of the fittest tennis players on the circuit, having won 6 of the last 7 matches with the exception of the Shanghai Masters 1000 final against Hurkacz, in which he also had a match point in response in the decisive tiebreak of the third set. Arnaldi, number 46 in the ATP rankings, despite having won 2-0 in the first round, did not seem particularly brilliant against the thirty-five-year-old Ramos Vinolas, having only prevailed in a tiebreak in both sets. No technical-tactical clues, as there is no precedent, but based on experience, caliber and state of form it is possible to think that the Russian could prevail in two sets, an event quoted at 1.57 on Better and Goldbet, 1.60 on Snai and 1.62 on bet365 and William Hill.

THE OTHER QUOTES OF ARNALDI-RUBLEV

As mentioned, for bookmakers there is a clear favorite, and that is Rublev. The Russian’s victory is on the board at 1.18 on Better, Goldbet and Planetwin365 and at 1.20 on bet365, Snai and William Hill. Arnaldi’s victory, however, can be played at 4.50 on Snai, Sisal, bet365, William Hill and Planetwin365. The Under/Over market is interesting: at least 22 games will be played in the match and is quoted at 1.83 on bet365 and 1.88 on Better and Goldbet; the Under 21.5, on the other hand, stands at 1.83 on bet365 and 1.85 on Snai. Final comment on the number of sets: for both to win at least one set, prolonging the match until the third, is playable at 2.62 on bet365 and even at 3.02 on Planetwin365.e
