The United States military has reportedly spotted another balloon over US territory. The American news channel NBC reports on the basis of three government officials that it is unclear exactly what kind of object it is and who it belongs to.
The object would have flown over parts of Hawaii, according to the NBC, but it was not about “sensitive” areas. The military has been tracking the object since late last week and has determined that there is no danger to air traffic or national security. The object is now slowly moving towards Mexico.
Earlier this year, several objects were shot out of the sky after the US military shot down a Chinese balloon. The US says the object was intended for espionage, Beijing insists it was a weather balloon drifted by the wind. It is unclear what the three other objects were. According to US President Joe Biden, these were not spy balloons and were probably from commercial companies or research institutes.
