Arminia Bielefeld strengthens defense with Heidenheim’s Oliver Hüsing

5th professional station

Arminia Bielefeld has hit the transfer market for the second time on a free transfer. As the East Westphalians announced on Friday, Oliver Hüsing (29) will switch to the Alm for free after the end of his contract with 1. FC Heidenheim. The Bundesliga relegated team did not say anything about the term of the contract. For the central defender, who is leaving FCH after three years and a total of 80 games, Bielefeld is his fifth professional stop after Werder Bremen, Hansa Rostock, Ferencváros and Heidenheim.

“Oliver has impressively demonstrated his class in the 2nd Bundesliga in recent years. With his wealth of experience, his tackle and header skills, he will be an important stability factor in our defense. We are very happy that Oliver will now be playing in our jersey,” said sporting director Samir Arabi. And the new coach Uli Forte added: “In the games I’ve seen him play, I’ve seen him as a clear, robust and strong defender. Oliver is a player we will have a lot of fun with.”
