Currently working for FC Bayern II
Arminia Bielefeld has apparently come across a prominent name when looking for a new head coach. As “sky” reported, the former Bundesliga professional Martín Demichelis is traded as a future coach at East Westphalia. Discussions about the Argentine, who is currently training FC Bayern II, are said to have taken place recently.
According to the report, Bielefeld’s sporting director, Samir Arabi, likes the idea of strengthening one’s name, but also having potential on the sidelines. The actual goalkeeping coach Marco Kostmann is currently leading the team on an interim basis until the end of the season following the separation from Frank Kramer. For Demichelis, Bielefeld would be the first station as the sole head coach in professional football.
Arminia candidate Martin Demichelis since 2019 in Bayern youth
Demichelis stayed on as an assistant coach at FC Málaga after retiring in 2017 before moving to the Munich youth division two years later. There he initially looked after the U19s, since April last year he has been responsible for the reserves, in the 3rd division still together with football coach Danny Schwarz. This season, after relegation, he led them to second place in the Regionalliga Bayern and scored an average of 2.3 points in 37 games. With 110 goals, the Munich team not only have the best offense, but also set a new record in this league, as no team had previously managed to score in three figures.

According to the broadcaster, it is also doubtful whether Demichelis will train the Munich reserve beyond the summer because the Argentine has recently been receiving advice from the “Sports360” agency. This wants a station for Demichelis in the Bundesliga or 2nd Bundesliga, it is said. However, the former defender still lacks the necessary license to be able to work at this level. Demichelis is therefore currently working on it parallel to his work in Italy and could already complete the training during the summer preparations.
From the 2022/23 season, Arminia will most likely start in the German lower house, as there is only a minimal chance of participating in the relegation before the last matchday against RB Leipzig.
