About twenty months after the armed robbery of the Bol.com distribution center in Waalwijk, two men were arrested on Tuesday morning. One of them is a 26-year-old man from Vught. The other suspect (24) is from Lelystad. In the robbery in 2020, two security guards from the company were threatened with a firearm and taken hostage.
The robbery started on Sunday morning, July 19, 2020 around a quarter past eight. At least four robbers broke into the building and threatened two security officers from Bol.com. They stayed at the property for hours and eventually made off with a large amount of loot.
Statements from the security guards showed that they were able to sound the alarm at a passer-by more than six hours after the robbers had entered. He immediately called 112.
The police showed up in several vehicles. Officers in bulletproof vests searched the area for the perpetrators, but they were missing. An investigation was immediately launched, but to no avail.
After persevering, found people
“A small changing team of detectives persisted and were able to find out the identity of these two suspects,” the police said. It concerns a 24-year-old man from Lelystad and a 26-year-old man from Vught. Their involvement in the robbery is still under investigation.
