Armed boys rob teenager in skate park Hoofddorp, during anti-knife campaign at schools

A 15-year-old boy was robbed of his personal belongings at a skate park in Hoofddorp under threat of a knife. The police are looking for four boys who were responsible for this on Thursday evening. The incident happened just in the week when the police visit schools to talk about knife possession, in response to previous problems with juvenile delinquency in the municipality.

The victim from Bennebroek is on Thursday evening around 8.30 pm with two friends at the skate track on Deltaweg, when he is approached by one of the boys. The three others quickly join the group and a knife is drawn.

Under threat of the knife, the boy gives his personal belongings to the boys, who immediately run away. The suspects may have run towards Almkerkplein. A Burgernet report and a search with a police helicopter were unable to ensure that the boys were found.

Little information is known about the description of the boys. Two of the four boys were wearing balaclavas. Furthermore, the two suspects are tinted and around 1.65 and 1.75 meters tall, and they were dressed in a blue and white coat.

Juvenile crime is a major problem in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. Last year, the municipality topped the list of places with the most nuisance from youth in North Holland. Incidents happen regularly.

At the beginning of this month, for example, in Badhoevedorp, four young people arrested for vandalizing a bus. In Nieuw-Vennep, meeting places destroyed or strewn with nitrous oxide balloons for young people, and in Hoofddorp a case director has to calm down the ‘criminalizing youth’ in the center.
