Natalie Armbruster is still off the podium course after a strong mass start race in Otepää. After the jumping, Norway occupied the top three.
In the Nordic combined women’s category, World Cup leader Ida Marie Hagen left the competition behind in the mass start race. But on the hill her teammate Gyda Westvold Hansen snatched the victory away and celebrated her first success of the season. Mari Leinan Lund completed the all-Norwegian podium. Natalie Armbruster narrowly missed the top three.
Hagen ahead after cross-country skiing
It’s hard to get past the Norwegians at the moment. First, Hagen confidently took the lead on the cross-country ski run and finished the 7.5-kilometer race with a lead of 10.9 seconds over her teammate Westvold Hansen. Armbruster was third, 11.4 seconds behind. Jenny Nowak (31.1s) came fifth, Maria Gebroth 13th, Svenja Würth 19th.
Norwegians dominate
The Norwegians then made up the top three on the hill. Westvold Hansen moved ahead of Hagen (92m) with 92.5 meters and was able to celebrate success for the first time in the season. Leinan Lund (92m) completed the Norwegian triple.
Strong team performance
Bad luck for Armbruster, who was able to show a flight of 90.5 meters on the hill, but narrowly missed the podium in fourth place. Teammate Jenny Nowak achieved her best World Cup result in sixth place with 89 meters. Gerboth and Würth jumped to 90 and 89 meters respectively, moving up to eighth and ninth place.
