Armand Duplantis cannot be beaten at the hall meeting in the German capital-and reaches a new record.

The Swede Armand Duplantis opened the indoor season with an impressive performance. At the ISTAF Indoor in Berlin, the world record holder and Olympic champion secured victory on Friday with 6.10 meters-and set up a new meeting record. He confidently exceeded the previous record of 6.06 meters, which he had set up last year.

However, his world record of 6.26 meters, set up in August 2023, remained untouched. Two attempts over 6.27 meters narrowly failed in the Berlin Hall.

Behind Duplantis, the Emmanouil Karalis Greek took second place with 5.94 meters. The German Springer Oleg Zernikel (Landau) and Bo Kanda Lita Baehre (Düsseldorf) reached three and four with 5.70 meters each. Torben sheet metal from Leverkusen was sixth with 5.55 meters.

There is a big goal for Duplantis in 2025: At the World Cup in Tokyo in September, the 23-year-old wants to make the title hate trick perfect after his gold medals in Eugene 2022 and Budapest 2023.
