Horse owner Arjan Schuiling from Tynaarlo is a candidate for the party Belang van Nederland (BVNL) in the upcoming parliamentary elections. He ranks 16th on the list.
In a statement on behalf of the party, Schuiling says he is concerned about the course of the Netherlands. “The fact is that a healthy agricultural sector is being deliberately killed by politicians in The Hague. With Belang van Nederland, there is a party that stands up for hard-working entrepreneurs and therefore also for farmers,” said the farmer who, with sufficient preference votes for BVNL, won the Second Room at will.
During the provincial elections of March this year, Schuiling was the Drenthe party leader for BVNL. The party failed to secure a seat in the Drenthe Parliament.
The party currently has two seats in the House of Representatives under the leadership of Wybren van Haga.
