Arjen Lubach enjoys the abrupt ending of Today Inside, which he previously described as Rape Inside. He made several jokes about it on his show last night.
The competitors of SBS 6 can breathe a sigh of relief with the abrupt end of Today Inside: the most watched talk show in the country has disappeared in one fell swoop. Arjen Lubach experienced his first broadcast yesterday without VI as a competitor and had the greatest fun about it. Last week he called the TV show Rape Inside.
‘Hello VI viewers!’
Arjen opened his Evening Show yesterday with a reference to the VI exit. “Immediately an extra warm welcome to all new viewers. I know, it’s a bit different from Today Inside, but still welcome! I dropped my pants in the Xenos out of respect for VI. It’s not the same, but you do what you can.”
Later it is about the luggage carriers of Schiphol. One of them tells in an item that he has to lift 1,200 suitcases a day. “1,200 suitcases? Is this man going on holiday with my girlfriend or something?!” Arjen yells. Dan: “Today Inside fans, this one was for you!”
“Weird bitch!”
A little later, reporter Tex de Wit indicates that the Schiphol problem can be solved if only hand luggage is taken. “Only one thing, Arjen: I’m not going to tell my wife!” he yells to please the VI viewers. Arjen: “Hahaha, hey, me neither!” Tex: “He always carries eight of those things with him!” Arjen: “What a strange woman! Hey!”
The Evening Show with Arjen Lubach yesterday attracted more than 1 million viewers (26% market share) to NPO 1, more than a hundred thousand more than Monday of last week. At the same time, Beau attracted 580 thousand viewers (17%) and later in the evening Op1 reached another 700 thousand viewers (27%).
SBS 6 sinks
SBS 6 drops considerably without VI: the Chateau Meiland repeat attracted 548 thousand viewers (12%). Immediately before that, Chateau Bijstand did more than fine with 971 thousand viewers (19%). Thanks to that score, SBS 6 was still the winner in prime time.
The other titles most viewed during prime time were NPO 1’s Kassa with 938 thousand viewers (19%), RTL 4’s Deferral of Execution with 840 thousand viewers (17%) and NPO 1’s Beter with 668 thousand viewers (15%).
Viewing figures
Programs that did not make the top 15 include Hart van Nederland (539 thousand), Khalid and Sophie (528 thousand), Per Seconde Wijzer (456 thousand), Shownieuws (448 thousand) and HLF8 (313 thousand).
