Tobias Rieder shone as an assist provider, but suffered a setback with the Arizona Coyotes in the North American ice hockey professional league NHL. The sixth in the Western Conference lost a two-goal lead against the eleven-time Stanley Cup winners Detroit Red Wings and, after four wins in a row, had to admit defeat 2-3 after extra time. The 23-year-old Rieder was on the ice for a total of 19:59 minutes, scoring his 17th assist of the season in the 39th minute. He also had the winning goal on his racket in overtime, but failed because of Detroit goalie Petr Mrazek.
