It’s about time! On June 29, armed gangsters attacked a Postbank branch on Uhlandstrasse in Wilmersdorf. The perpetrators fled with 266,000 euros in loot, injuring four people.

Now her getaway car has been found! Does the trail lead to a criminal clan?

On Friday morning, investigators hooked up a black Audi RS 6 Avant Performance on Hannoversche Strasse in Mitte. The 600 hp projectile (from 127,000 euros) was loaded onto a tow truck and taken to the State Criminal Police Office to secure evidence.

Unlike other cars used in armored vehicle robberies, the Audi had not been set on fire to destroy evidence or foamed with a fire extinguisher.

The Berlin public prosecutor assumes that it is the getaway car of the gangsters from Uhlandstrasse.

Spokesman Sebastian Büchner on the BZ: “The necessary forensic investigations, including DNA, were initiated immediately. We have hope of finding traces of the perpetrator.”

With the confiscation of the car, which is registered to a company, police officers also locked an unoccupied house on Hannoversche Strasse with a padlock. The residential building, which has several company names on the doorbell, is said to belong to a head of a Roma clan based in Poland, who is known to the police.

When asked about this, reference is made to the ongoing investigations.
