Sam Smith and Kim Petras performed their song “Unholy” together at this year’s Grammy Awards. The show featured red lights and pyrotechnics, and Smith wore a hat with horns. Conspiracy theorists and right-wing radicals from the USA such as Matt Walsh now suspect a satanic ritual behind it.
The singer is “possessed by demons“. The two conservative politicians too Ted Cruz and Liz Wheeler slammed the performance as ‘devilish’. After the performance, an advertisement for the pharmaceutical company “Pfizer” was shown, which the conspiracy theorists saw as confirmed. In the past, the company was already a popular target of crude theories that defy any logic due to the corona vaccine.
Walsh is a right-wing celebrity and outspoken opponent of the LGBT movement. Sam Smith came out as gay in 2016 and has defined himself as non-binary since 2017. Kim Petras is transgender. They won a Golden Gramophone for “Best Pop Duo” for “Unholy.” Never before has a trans person achieved this in this category.
