Archer Mike Schloesser from Nuth has won the European title in the compound section.
In the final he defeated the Turk Yakup Yildiz 148-146.
Flawless
Yildiz started the final better and was clear in the first end with three tens. Schloesser was not completely clear and came to 29 points. In the second end, the Limburger immediately made up for his deficit. Schloesser made no mistakes and saw Yildiz shoot a nine twice to finish the second end with a 59-58 lead.
Quiet
In the third end, Yildiz tied the score again. He shot three tens, while Schloesser once failed to hit the center of the bull’s eye. In the fourth and penultimate end, Schloesser took the lead again: 118-117. The Limburger then remained calm and managed to win the European title with three tens.
Second time
It was the second time in one day that Schloesser and Yildiz met. Earlier on Saturday, the archers already played the team final in the compound section. That final was won by Turkey.
