“Dear friends, we missed you!”
With these words, Arcade Fire begin a brief newsletter that they sent out to their fans on Monday evening. The most important message follows. “We’re so excited to be back!” the band writes, announcing that a new song called “The Lightning I, II” will be released on Thursday at 7pm Central European Time.
Arcade Fire didn’t send an audio sample, but instead sent a note with the chords “to make playing a little easier”:
The same picture with the same text can now be seen on her Instagram account. All other, older postings have been deleted.
A week ago, there were already indications that Arcade Fire 2022 could be heard from again: The band sent postcards to fans, which also featured chords and the words “We missed you”.
Arcade Fire’s current studio album EVERYTHING NOW was released in 2017. In 2021, the Canadian band released the soundtrack to the film “Her”, which was shown in cinemas in 2013. A new album has not yet been officially announced.
